Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher and his wife, Liz, have received an outpouring of support from followers after revealing a major development on their farm. The pair live on their 120-acre property with their four young children, and fans regularly catch glimpses of their hectic lifestyle as cameras capture their adventures on their hit ITV programme Fletcher’s Family Farm
Viewers of the programme have watched Kelvin, who formerly portrayed farmer Andy Sugden in Emmerdale, take on actual farming responsibilities alongside Liz. During a recent instalment, broadcast on Sunday, they disclosed that their cherished dog, Ginger, had delivered three puppies.
The household initially learnt that Ginger was expecting after she was rescued before Christmas last year, having initially suspected she was simply larger. At the time, Liz described discovering the pregnancy as “the best news,” and vet Hugo verified the pups via a scan.
Ginger has since delivered the puppies, and Liz shared the joyful announcement with followers. Posting a clip from the programme to the Fletcher Farm Instagram account, Liz confessed: “We’ve had a long night.”
She then elaborated: “Ginger started showing signs of labour, she was just panting and panting for hours and hours and hours. Then, she was just circulating the room, like, so restless.”

“She didn’t know what to do with herself. So I slept on the sofa. She made a little bed in this box, so I slept here next to her. About 5 o’clock this morning, she finally delivered the first pup, and she was amazing. It was fascinating to see.”
Whilst cradling one of the newborn pups, Liz said, “Aww, is that just the cutest thing?” The camera then swept across to Ginger nursing her puppies as Liz continued: “This one’s a big lad. What are you…? Boy. They’re all so different. Aww, you want to be warm, don’t you, with your mum? There you go.”
As anticipated, the comment section was inundated with heartwarming messages from fans, including one that read: “Omg I can’t cope to cute @liz_fletcher83.”
Another wrote: “I just love this programme and watching your family and farm grow! ! Watching Ginger with her baby pups made me cry and smile… She is just adorable, and well done, Ginger.” A third said, “What a lovely feeling bringing your puppies into the world.”

Another echoed: “Just beautiful.” Meanwhile, one fan added: “Well done Ginger, you are going to be an amazing mummy.”
This comes as Kelvin and Liz recently revealed their aspirations that their children would eventually inherit the farm. During Sunday’s episode, Liz expressed her ambitions for the future and how vital it is to her that their children be engaged in the farm.
She said: “Having the kids involved and helping just makes it special, because they’ll one day, hopefully, take over, and me and Kelvin can be in the Bahamas.
“So I’m hoping that the kids are doing all this, and we’re just sitting back, and they’re sending us money,” she chuckled. Kelvin joined in, “You know what I would actually love, let’s say in, I don’t know, 20 years from now, that I’m just sort of the farm handyman, the farm labourer, and that the kids are running a large farming enterprise.”
“Yeah, do you reckon you’ll let go, though?” Liz queried. “Do you think you’ll relinquish that control? Because, knowing you, I can’t envision it.” Kelvin pondered, “I believe that’s probably the most difficult thing for most farming families to let go.” Liz quipped: “I won’t. I’ll be on a cruise. I’m doing my shift, and then I’m enjoying the rest of it.”
