📱 Helen Flanagan Breaks Silence on Shock Social Media Absence: “I Just Want an Acting Job!” 🎭
Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has officially broken her radio silence on Instagram, giving fans a brutally honest update on why she has been completely missing from the digital world.
Known for her usually vibrant and highly active presence on social media, the actress returned to her Instagram Stories this weekend to reveal she has been trapped in a turbulent “anxious” and “frustrated” spiral over the state of her acting career.
🛑 “I’m Unsure of Myself”: The Looming 36th Birthday Crisis
Addressing her followers directly in a series of emotional video clips, the mom-of-three confessed that a mix of major life changes and career stagnation has left her feeling completely unmoored.
“I really have been kind of quiet on my social,” Helen started candidly. “I’ve just kind of felt like not sure… I’ve not really been sure of myself recently. I kind of feel like… I’m turning 36 in August, I’ve just done this house move, and I’m kind of unsure where I am like, career-wise as well.”
While social media influencer campaigns have been her primary source of income for nearly a decade, Helen admitted her heart is no longer fully in it. “I worked on social media from 28 until, well I am nearly 36, and I genuinely really loved it,” she explained. “But there’s a lot of change going on, and I’ve just felt a bit weird in myself. I’m in two minds about moving to London… everything’s just been a bit all over the place.”
☎️ The Corrie Ghosting: “They Haven’t Called Me!”
The root of Helen’s deep-seated frustration boils down to one simple thing: she wants to act again. With her youngest children finally growing up, she feels completely ready to step back into the spotlight—specifically on the very cobbles that made her a household name.
Helen has been incredibly vocal about her desire to reprise her iconic role as Rosie Webster on Coronation Street, but she dropped a heartbreaking reality check for fans who keep asking about her return:
“Honestly, if they want me to come back, I’d love to, but [show bosses] just haven’t spoken to me. Everybody always asks me, ‘When are you going back to Corrie?’ And it’s like, ‘They haven’t called me!’ If you want to call me, that’s great. But they haven’t. I just want a job at the moment.”
She added: “I just really want to concentrate on my acting now. I feel really lucky. All my children are now at school so I want to concentrate on my career. I’m just a normal northern, down-to-earth mum.”
👯♂️ Nostalgia and New Beginnings: The Webster Sisters Assemble
Despite her current career anxieties, Helen has had plenty to celebrate recently. Earlier this year, she sent Corrie fans into a total meltdown when she reunited with her former on-screen sister, Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster), at the star-studded International Women’s Day lunch at Salford’s Lowry Hotel.
Helen also released a deeply personal memoir earlier this year titled “Head & Heart: Break-ups, Breakdowns and Being Rosie,” which laid bare her chaotic years in Weatherfield and her struggles with mental health following high-profile breakups.
Now, with her school-run duties officially settled, Helen is putting all her energy into a screen comeback. Will the casting directors at ITV finally pick up the phone, or will Helen have to pack her bags for London to find her next big break?
