Coronation Street’s Jude Riordan has posted a heartfelt message following the conclusion of a show he starred in alongside the soap.
Jude joined Corrie in 2020, taking on the role of Sam Blakeman. He quickly became a fan favourite after arriving on the cobbles as the secret son of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).
Sam has been at the centre of several major storylines on the soap, including the heartbreaking death of his mum Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac), who was murdered by Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).
In 2021, the gifted young actor even scooped the best newcomer award at the National Television Awards.
Aside from Coronation Street, Jude has appeared in CBBC’s Katy and Sky One’s comedy, Brassic, where he played Tyler Croft – his on-screen mum is portrayed by former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan, reports the Daily Star.
The series follows a group of hard-up working-class mates living in the fictional village of Hawley. Joseph ‘Joe’ Gilgun, known for Emmerdale and Misfits, created the show with Shameless writer Danny Brocklehurst.
However, it was announced earlier this year that the seventh series of Brassic would be its last, with the final episode airing last month.
Recently, Jude took to Instagram to reflect on his time on the programme. The teenager shared a series of snaps from the set over the years, including photos of him with Michelle and star and co-creator Joseph ‘Joe’ Gilgun.
In his post, he penned: “I like the funny dog, it’s an owl. Kick him! I can remember every day I did on Brassic (5 aa however much fun you can imagine it would be X it by 10. Grew up with the greats. Look how young Joe looks.
“From sitting at the Liverpool docks running lines with everyone in different accents to many hours driving to France to the best bacon butties to crew dogs and just hanging out with the funniest people. Brassic days were really GOOD TIMES!”.
Fans quickly took to the comments section to express their disappointment over Brassic ending. One individual commented: “Best show best cast. Going to miss them.”
Another chimed in: “Loved the programme, gutted it’s finished for good. You should have been in the last series, you’re a great actor young man.” A third wrote: “Going to miss the show,” accompanied by a crying face emoji.
