The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Wednesday, October 22, reveals that Ian Ward (Ray Wise) will push Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) to embrace evil while Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) makes a love confession.
At the hospital in Los Angeles, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will tell Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) about Mariah needing her at the clinic in Boston, but she also won’t want to leave comatose Noah Newman (Lucas Adams).
Nick will comfort Sharon over her dilemma before she calls Mariah’s doctors for some updates.
While Sharon’s sitting with Noah and mulling over her next move, Nick will get Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) on the phone and give her all the latest news.
Nikki will hear about Detective Burrow’s (Matt Cohen) strange line of questioning and Sienna Bacall’s (Tamara Braun) shady call.
Nick will complain about all the suspicions surrounding Noah’s accident and will seek help looking into Sienna.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will already have headed up to bed, but Nikki will get Nick to send her Sienna’s name and contact info so Victor can have his people investigate.
Once Nick rejoins Sharon in Noah’s room, they’ll reminisce about when he was a little boy.
Sharon will ultimately decide she needs to stay there with Noah and trust that Mariah’s getting the help she needs at her facility.
At the GCAC, Daniel will kiss Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) before realizing this was probably a bad idea.
However, Tessa will admit she’s thought about kissing Daniel before – and he’ll admit he’s thought about kissing her, too.
Daniel and Tessa will end up having an honest conversation at Crimson Lights, where Tessa will acknowledge her complicated feelings for Daniel and share how important he’s become to her.
Daniel will eventually blurt out that he’s falling in love with Tessa before stammering apologies.
Tessa will think it’s better to let things out than keep them bottled up or run away from them.
With that in mind, Tessa will acknowledge that in another timeline, perhaps she could fall in love with Daniel, too.
That said, Tessa won’t know what’s going to happen with her marriage and will plan to keep fighting for it.
Daniel will agree that’s what Tessa should do, but neither one of them will want these messy feelings to mess up their friendship.
There’ll be a tender moment as Tessa touches Daniel’s cheek while they process all this.
At the clinic in Boston, Mariah will insist Ian isn’t real and will keep trying to get him to go away.
Ian will suggest that he’d be gone if that’s what Mariah really wanted.
Although Ian will consider them twisted kindred spirits, Mariah will argue that she’ll never be like him.
Ian will disagree and will act like the real reason Mariah has distanced herself from her loved ones is because they’d cramp her style.
Ian will call Mariah evil and talk about her embracing “the darkness,” but he’ll also think Mariah is a doer and needs to let everyone see her in all her glory.
Mariah will confess the whole ugly story with Will Hensley (Michael Swan), who she targeted because he felt like an echo of Ian.
Mariah basically seduced Will because she saw it as a path to erasing Ian, but then she couldn’t go through with killing him.
It would’ve been like doing Ian’s dirty work and making Will another one of Ian’s victims.
Despite Mariah’s remorse and decision to check in the clinic for help, Ian will keep acting like he’s the only one who sees and appreciates the real her.
Ian will play up how they’re connected, but Mariah will finally manage to shut her eyes and make him disappear.
Mariah will ultimately look at the queen of hearts card again as Wednesday’s Y&R episode wraps up.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Mariah has more work to do if she wants to get her life back on track, so stay tuned.
