Tess Daly has been proudly showing her support for husband Vernon Kay as he marks a major return to television — just months after she stepped away from her long-running role on Strictly Come Dancing.
The Bolton-born presenter is back on screens with a brand-new BBC quiz show, Do You Know Your Place?, and Tess made it clear she would be cheering him on every step of the way.
Vernon previously revealed in November that he was “absolutely thrilled” to be fronting the new celebrity-led format for BBC Two, teaming up with former The Traitors star Paul Gorton. The show officially launched on Monday, February 23.
Each episode sees Vernon quiz three celebrity guests on their knowledge of the UK — with Paul acting as an intentionally “unreliable” tour guide. While Paul travels to different towns and cities across the country to set questions, the celebrities remain in the studio attempting to separate fact from fiction. Studio games add to the chaos, with daily winners collecting souvenirs sent back from Paul’s travels. At the end of the week, the overall champion takes home an “I Know My Place” sweatshirt.
Ahead of the premiere, Vernon excitedly shared the news with fans on Instagram. “Today is the start of my brand new quiz,” he wrote. “Do You Know Your Place? Tonight, 6.30pm on BBC Two. I’ve got Shane Todd, Remi Burgz and the fabulous Anneka Rice in the hot seats — and they did not disappoint.”
Alongside a behind-the-scenes video, he added: “We had an absolute blast making this one. So much fun… trust me — these are the OUTTAKES!”
Tess was quick to react. She filled the comments with red heart emojis before resharing promotional clips to her own Instagram Story, writing: “I’ll be tuning in tonight @vernonkay.”
