Sharon Osbourne was overcome with emotion as she stepped onto the stage at the 2026 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night, breaking down in tears during a moment that brought the audience to a standstill.

The deeply personal scene unfolded ahead of the ceremony’s tribute to her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne, who died six months ago. British rocker Yungblud had just won Best Rock Performance for his powerful cover of Ozzy’s iconic song Changes, performed during Black Sabbath’s final concert at Villa Park in Birmingham in 2025.

Taking to the microphone during the Grammy Premiere Ceremony — the earlier awards show held ahead of the main televised event — Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Richard Harrison, delivered an emotional and expletive-filled speech dedicated to the man he described as his “idol”.

“To grow up loving an idol who helps you figure out your identity, not only as a musician but also as a man, is something I’m really grateful for,” he said.
“But to then get to know them, honour them at their final show, and receive this… I’m struggling to comprehend it. We f*****g love you, Ozzy.”
A visibly tearful Sharon watched on from the stage as he continued, recalling his final encounter with the rock legend.
“The last time I saw Ozzy Osbourne, he asked me if there was anything he could do for me,” Yungblud said. “And I told him the music was enough.”

He ended his tribute by declaring: “God bless Ozzy Osbourne — and God bless f*****g rock music.”
Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Black Sabbath frontman, died of heart failure at his Buckinghamshire home on July 22, 2025, aged 76 — a loss that sent shockwaves through the music world.

Following Yungblud’s win, Sharon took to Instagram to share a clip of his acceptance speech, accompanied by a heartfelt message of her own.
“My heart is bursting with pride and gratitude,” she wrote. “Changes ~ live from Villa Park ~ Back to the Beginning just won the Grammy for Best Rock Performance.”
She also noted that all proceeds from the album had gone to charity and tagged the musicians involved, including guitarist Nuno Bettencourt.

Fans quickly flooded the comments with messages of support and celebration.
“So deserved — I know you must be more proud of him than any of us right now,” wrote one follower.
Another added: “We are all so proud of Dom.”
A third commented: “The most emotional award of the night. Ozzy would be blown away by the love surrounding him right now.”
The 2026 Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony took place earlier that day at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and was streamed online ahead of the main show.

Elsewhere at the ceremony, Lady Gaga won Best Dance Pop Recording for Abracadabra, though she was not present and instead sent a note that was read on stage. Kehlani claimed Best R&B Performance, marking her first-ever Grammy win, while Turnstile picked up Best Rock Album for Never Enough.
Best Alternative Performance went to The Cure for Alone, though the band were unable to attend as they were at a funeral for a bandmate. Gloria Estefan won Best Tropical Latin Album and thanked her husband Emilio Estefan during her speech.

The main Grammy ceremony — widely billed as “Music’s Biggest Night” — is being broadcast live on CBS, with streaming available on Paramount+. Comedian Trevor Noah returned as host for the sixth consecutive year.

Fans also rushed to the comments to celebrate the win

Earlier in the evening, Sharon was seen being supported by friends and fellow musicians on the red carpet, where she appeared glamorous in a black gown with an embellished neckline, diamond jewellery, and dark sunglasses — at one point even kicking off her heels and walking barefoot.
