Wearing a relaxed yet trendy denim co-ord paired with a crisp white T-shirt and trainers, the beloved TV presenter radiated quiet strength as she grabbed a newspaper and a sandwich – a simple act that now feels symbolic of a renewed life.

The former This Morning host, who’s been open about her decades-long battle with weight, has now shed five stone and says she’s finally “in control.”
In an interview with Woman&Home, Fern opened up about the real turning point: “I had my shoulder replaced, and I knew it was time to stop feeling sorry for myself. I quit drinking, quit smoking, took out 80% of sugar from my diet… I finally began thinking about what I was eating.”

Fern credits the “Couch to 5k” programme and an intentional lifestyle overhaul for her transformation, adding that the journey wasn’t about vanity – it was about survival.
After ending her 20-year marriage with TV chef Phil Vickery in 2020, Fern retreated from the public eye and moved permanently into her Cornish holiday home – a quiet seaside town that helped her heal. There, she’s been working on her 11th novel, A Cornish Legacy, due out June 5.

With a glow that comes from peace, discipline, and purpose, Fern Britton isn’t just making headlines for how she looks — but for the life she’s choosing to live.
