James Lewis from Bargain Hunt has shared a deeply emotional chapter of his life as he celebrates his new marriage to Ed Otter, who is 18 years younger than him, following the end of his previous marriage to his ex-wife, Annabelle. The 53-year-old TV personality tied the knot with Ed in a private ceremony last September, attended by only 50 guests, including his 17-year-old daughter, Arabella, from his past relationship.

In a heartfelt interview, James confessed that it was “love at first sight” with Ed after his marriage ended. “I was ready,” he told The Mirror, as he reflected on his fresh start after his separation from his wife.

The couple had originally considered eloping to Yellowstone National Park, but in the end, they chose to have a more intimate ceremony, including their parents and daughter, who now affectionately calls both men ‘Dad.’ James shared, “Ed and Arabella get on so well. I’m very lucky.”

However, the couple’s wedding day was marked by a serious health scare. James, who has previously survived two cardiac arrests, experienced a heart rate that spiked over 250 beats per minute on his wedding day, far exceeding the normal adult resting rate of 60-100 beats per minute. Despite his cardiologist’s advice to avoid stressful situations, James was determined to move forward with the ceremony, saying, “I didn’t plan on getting married again, but I still intend to take part in future charity auctions.”Record Breaking Charity Auction! - Pollyanna Pickering

Reflecting on his relationship with Ed, James praised his husband’s easy-going nature, revealing that working with Ed is far less stressful than it was with his ex-wife, calling him “incredibly kind and easy-going.”

Despite health challenges, James’s wedding marks a fresh chapter filled with joy, love, and a newfound sense of balance.
