Joe Swash has opened up about the struggles he’s facing with his ADHD, revealing that a recent disastrous holiday with wife Stacey Solomon has made him realise just how much the condition has affected his life and his relationship.

ADHD Taking a Grip on Joe’s Life

In a candid social media post, Joe explained that he has stopped taking his medication for the past year, a decision he now regrets. Reflecting on the chaotic family holiday, where he made multiple mistakes—including leaving Stacey’s suitcase at home and missing a flight—he admitted, “I feel like the ADHD has taken a bit more of a grip, and it’s sort of creeping back into my life again, and I’m not managing it well.”

Widening the Gap Between Joe and Stacey
Joe also revealed that his ADHD has caused increasing strain on his relationship with Stacey, explaining, “It’s pulling me and Stacey further apart.” Despite his best efforts, Joe acknowledged that the condition has made it difficult for him to meet Stacey’s needs, causing frustration and distance between them. He admitted that he has not been able to manage the condition effectively and plans to restart his journey from scratch, seeking help from his GP and an ADHD specialist.
The Strain on Their Marriage
This isn’t the first time Joe has addressed the impact of his ADHD on his marriage. During a therapy session last year, Joe tearfully admitted to Stacey that he felt like a “problem” in her “perfect” life. The couple has been working through the challenges of managing Joe’s condition, with Stacey trying to be patient but also expressing how difficult it is to carry the burden alone.
Joe’s Commitment to Change
After the eye-opening holiday, Joe has vowed to take the necessary steps to get back on track with his treatment, stating, “I want to try and do it properly, find the right balance of medication, speak to the right people.” While the road ahead may be tough, Joe is determined to make positive changes for the sake of his relationship and his family.
