IT’S OFFICIAL: THE HUNTING WIVES season 2 Renewed on Netflix After Explosive Success — Fans Brace for More Scandal, Betrayal, and Shocking Twists That Will Leave You Breathless! After dominating Netflix’s Top 10 and becoming one of the most talked-about thrillers of the year, The Hunting Wives is already circling back with Season 2 on the horizon. The creator has dropped the first tantalizing hints, and fans are buzzing with theories about what’s next. With its intoxicating blend of scandal, betrayal, and jaw-dropping twists, Season 2 promises to turn up the heat even higher — and viewers are bracing themselves for the chaos to come. If you thought Season 1 was shocking, just wait…
Netflix’s raunchy thriller The Hunting Wives became an immediate hit after being released, and luckily for fans, the show’s creator, Rebecca Cutter, already has a plan for where to take the story next. As of yet, The Hunting Wives season 2 has not officially been announced by Netflix, but it could still be renewed.

Based on the novel of the same name by May Cobb, The Hunting Wives topped Netflix’s charts and retained its position for several weeks, proving just how well audiences were responding to the explicit series. Despite criticism over this point, Cutter defended The Hunting Wives, highlighting that the series is meant to be fun.
Arguably, it is precisely this chaotic, steamy fun that has made the show such a hit, and there is plenty of room for Cutter to continue that into season 2. While speaking with Decider, Cutter shared that she is thinking about how to continue Margo and Sophie’s story and add new trouble to the mix. See her full comments below:
The heart of the show is Sophie and Margo. This is my second murder mystery show, and there’s always at least 1 or 2 threads that run through. In this show, to me, Season 1 was: Where are Margo and Sophia at in their trajectory, and where are we at in the murder mystery? You need both things firing on all cylinders to keep people locked in. So I have a lot in my mind for Season 2 about Sophie and Margo, also about some murder stuff. And then there’s a reality show on the horizon, maybe some new people come to town. Maybe there’s some new troubles that arise. We have our two wonderful cop characters, Salazar and Flynn. So there’s a lot stewing in my brain right now for Season 2.
What Cutter’s Comments Mean For The Hunting Wives Season 2

The Hunting Wives season 1
Netflix still has yet to order The Hunting Wives season 2, but given how successful the first season became in such a short amount of time, it would make sense for the streaming service to want to capitalize on that popularity. If that ends up being the case, there are plenty of ways that Cutter can expand from The Hunting Wives season 1’s ending.
Season 1 of the series changed quite a bit from May Cobb’s book, including changing the identity of The Hunting Wives‘ murderer. The revelations that it brings to light, as well as the other death in the season finale, mean that The Hunting Wives season 2 will need to explore where Margo and Sophie are after their actions.
Their complicated dynamic would likely only become further twisted if the series were to continue, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Likewise, the addition of new characters means that Cutter will have those new relationships to explore as well. Without source material to draw from, The Hunting Wives‘ future is wide open.
Our Take On Cutter’s Vision For The Hunting Wives’ Future

The cast of Netflix’s The Hunting Wives
Rebecca Cutter’s comments about The Hunting Wives season 2 feel quite hopeful about its renewal. The show’s popularity and uniqueness put it in a great place that audiences will hopefully be willing to return to after a thrilling first season. However, everything depends on Netflix at this point.
Choosing to change the book’s ending quite significantly may have worked in Cutter’s favor, though, since the show will now have plenty to get into concerning Margo and Sophie’s relationship and the violent acts they have committed. Beyond this, season 2 will allow Cutter to get very creative with a new murder mystery plot.
Cutter stating that she already has ideas for the type of trouble The Hunting Wives‘ lead characters could get into next season bodes well for future plot development. Likewise, May Cobb serving as an executive producer on the series could help ensure that whatever comes next, The Hunting Wives maintains its darkly fun, raunchy tone.
