Pete Wicks has shared his heartfelt joy after Theo, a terminally ill Neapolitan Mastiff, was finally rehomed with a caring family. The four-year-old dog, who has a serious heart condition and potentially less than a year to live, captured the nation’s hearts after a public appeal by Pete, Dog’s Trust, and the Mirror.
The touching campaign has led to Theo being adopted by Natalie and Darren from Worcestershire, along with their son Fin. Pete, 37, had previously offered to cover all of Theo’s medical costs to ensure he could live his final months surrounded by love, not loneliness.
“I couldn’t be happier that Theo has found a new home,” Pete said. “He’s such a big softie and deserves a home full of love. Knowing he’ll be surrounded by people who adore him means the world to me.”

Theo’s new owner Natalie explained that the family had been grieving their beloved Mastiff, Freya, and immediately felt a connection with Theo. “The moment I saw him, I just knew we could love him. We’re realistic about his condition and know the heartbreak ahead – but for now, we’re cherishing every moment.”
Theo’s journey from an underweight stray to a healthy 52kg dog is being featured in the upcoming series Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake. Emma-Jane Thomas from Dogs Trust Kenilworth shared her own joy: “Theo is a dog that leaves a pawprint on your heart. His story reminds us that every dog deserves a chance at happiness.”
