What was supposed to be a picture-perfect royal moment turned into a scene of pure mischief — thanks to the youngest Cambridge, Prince Louis, who stole the spotlight once again!
During his very first royal engagement alongside Princess Kate, the five-year-old prince made a hilarious six-word demand that left everyone — including his mum — laughing. Witnesses say Kate was all smiles as she tried to keep her little one focused, but Louis had other ideas.
“Mummy, can we go home now, please?” he reportedly said, tugging on her hand with an adorably impatient face. The crowd couldn’t help but chuckle as Kate gently laughed and whispered something back to calm him down.
Social media immediately lit up, with fans saying, “Prince Louis never fails to bring the fun!” and “That kid’s got Prince William’s charm and cheek!”
Royal watchers agreed that Louis’ spontaneous comment showed his down-to-earth nature and made the moment feel refreshingly real — reminding everyone that even future kings and queens have to deal with a restless five-year-old.
As one fan perfectly put it: “He might be royal, but he’s definitely all kid — and we love him for it!” ![]()

At just seven-years-old, Prince Louis has been on the royal stage many times now for big events. While he often appears at Trooping The Colour celebrations and the annual Christmas Day walkabout, he has, like his siblings, only attended very few royal engagements with his parents Prince William and Princess Kate.
However, while he has only attended just a few, he has managed to capture the hearts of the nation every time. This includes one of his first official royal engagements in 2023 when he stepped out with his family in Slough.
On the weekend of the King’s Coronation, Louis joined his parents and siblings Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10, at the 3rd Upton Scouts Hut as part of The Big Help initiative.
Throughout the day, Louis and his family helped carry out various tasks, which included painting, resetting a path and helping with the outdoor space.
However, while Louis seemed to enjoy himself, he did have a rather cheeky demand to mum Princess Kate when he wanted to operate a digger with his older brother George.
When watching George and William operate the digger, Louis said to Kate: “I want to go in with him!”
Prince Louis then managed to have a go himself, with the assistance of his dad The Prince of Wales.

As well as helping out at the Scout Hut, Louis also got to enjoy toasted marshmallows alongside his family.
It was in this sweet moment when it was revealed that his nickname from his mum was “Lou-bugs”.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are not expected to take part in many official royal engagements until they complete their education.
At the moment, the three children all attend Lambrook School and only really appear at big royal events for balcony appearances or public family celebrations such as Christmas Day.
