Coronation Street fans are buzzing with speculation that Peter Barlow, a beloved character, might be making a dramatic return to the iconic cobbles.
Peter, portrayed by Chris Gascoyne, first graced our screens back in 1965 when his character was born on the show. He’s the offspring of Ken (William Roache) and Valerie Barlow (Anne Reid), and the twin brother of his late sister Susan, who tragically died in a car accident in 2001.
After being sent off to Glasgow at the tender age of five with his sister, Peter made a surprising comeback to Weatherfield in 2000, following a stint in the Royal Navy.
It’s safe to say that this fan favourite has been at the heart of numerous major storylines during his time on the popular ITV soap.
From battling alcoholism and navigating a tumultuous love life, including multiple affairs, to welcoming his son Simon (Alex Bain) into the world, Peter’s tenure in Weatherfield was anything but dull, reports the Daily Star.

Their relationship has been quite the rollercoaster so far, especially recently, as Lisa’s wife Becky (Amy Cudden) made a shocking ‘return from the dead’ four years after she was supposedly killed in action.
