Gogglebox returned to screens on Friday night, introducing some wholesome new faces – but fans were quick to demand the return of a much-loved duo.
The beloved Channel 4 show sees the sofa critics share their thoughts on the latest TV. The programme underwent a major shake-up, with five new families joining the regulars from their sofas – after just one pair were axed.

Among the newcomers are two Scottish duos: friends Jake, 27, and Calum, 31, from Glasgow, as well as sisters Rosie, 68, and Susie, 70, from Edinburgh. The show also welcomed its oldest-ever contributor – 87-year-old Sara from Yorkshire – who appears alongside her daughter-in-law Lara, 58.

The remaining new additions include the Gordons from Surrey, made up of parents Andre, 49, and Sarah, 47, along with their daughter Chee, 25; and married couple Andrew, 62, and Alfie, 32, from the Cotswolds
The news comes after the departure of Roisin and Joe from the series, which had left many fans devastated.
As viewers tuned into last night’s episode, many were quick to point out that the familiar couple was missing.
The Scottish duo, who joined Gogglebox in 2022, were noticeably absent from the lineup – and it comes just days after they revealed they’d been dropped from the show by producers.
One person demanded, “where are the people’s princesses???? #Gogglebox.” A second viewer commented, “I liked these guys.”
A third person added, “Bring them back.” A fourth fan of the show wrote, “Contract wasn’t renewed despite them being bright, articulate, and funny.” Announcing their exit from Gogglebox, Roisin and Joe said, “After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa Channel 4 have decided it’s time for Joe and I to stretch out legs and have not asked us back for season 26.
“Therefore we are leaving the Gogglebox family. We couldn’t be more grateful to Studio Lambert for the opportunity, the experience has actually been so mad and we will miss watching TV with you all on Friday nights!
“It’s been an honor to represent Scotland as some of the first Scottish people on the show and prove we don’t actually need subtitles.”
In a statement, Channel 4 said, “We thank Joe and Roisin for their contributions to Gogglebox over the years, and wish them all the best for the future.”
Gogglebox Star Roisin Kelly Finally Breaks Her Silence — And Drops Bombshell Hint About Her Next Big TV Move!
Gogglebox star Roisin Kelly has finally broken her silence after she was brutally axed from the BBC TV show.
The Scottish star and her boyfriend Joe joined the programme in February 2022 but revealed to fans at the end of July that they wouldn’t be returning for series 26.
And taking to TikTok on Saturday, Roisin lifted the lid on why they were asked to leave the show – and shut down rumours of behind-the-scenes drama.
Filming a get ready with me video, Roisin said to the camera: ‘Brutally axed is probably a strong way to put it but we just weren’t asked back.
‘They just said they wanted to take the show in another direction… away from our house. So yeah there’s not really any lore or any stories to it.’
Elsewhere Roisin made a play for her and Joe to star on another BBC show as she revealed her desire to be cast on Race Across The World.

Starting the video, Roisin said: ‘Talking about being axed from Gogglebox and not even having enough make-up to put on my face is so on brand.
‘So obviously Gogglebox was back on last night and we had a lot of comments asking “where are Joe and Roisin” and guys if you’ve missed the news, we were brutally axed.’
Roisin continued: ‘There’s been a few articles saying we’re going into the jungle on I’m A Celebrity, lol. I feel like sitting on your ar**, in our case, watching TV doesn’t really qualify to be part of I’m A Celebrity.
‘But it’s flattering to be part of the rumours, it’s nice to be included.’
She added: ‘People always think there’s more to it in these stories like we’ve done a Jeremy Clarkson punched a producer behind the scenes but actually we were good friends with all our producers.
‘And that’s the thing that’s sad like firstly you need to get over the ego part of being, I don’t want to say booted off. It’s like being on Love Island and getting voted out – but is it more tragic being kicked off a show people don’t even get kicked off of?
‘I avoided talking about it took much in the beginning because you don’t want to look bitter and obviously like see in life right, we had a job watching TV and getting paid for it and that’s class.’
Hinting at a possible appearance on another show, Roisin said: ‘How many can say they got to be on Gogglebox and watch TV? So you just have to be grateful for the opportunity.

‘This is me being nice in case they want us to be on Race Across The World.’
The pair shared the news of their exit on TikTok in July, which left viewers absolutely heartbroken.
Roisin said in a statement posted on her page: ‘After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa Channel 4 have decided it’s time for Joe and I to stretch out legs and have not asked us back for season 26.

She added: ‘A special shout out to our crew of past and present, Jason, Ayse, Rich, Eilish, Ewan, Evie, Seve, David, Stef, AJ and Odin.
‘Also to Harriet for always answering the phone, anytime of the day or night. We have made friends for life and after filming every week for years, you have become like our family!
‘We could not have asked for better people to work with and we will miss you immensely.
‘A huge thank you to everyone who has watched us, met us, and supported us during this experience, it for sure has been a once in a lifetime opportunity. Time to watch TV in silence for a bit and put down the popcorn.
‘Miss you already, Roisin and Joe x x x.’
