The 49-year-old comedian and TV presenter has revealed plans to leave the country altogether, confirming he is finally moving out of the home he once shared with his ex-husband, Paul Drayton, more than four years after their split.
Speaking ahead of his appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Alan admitted the decision marks a major emotional and practical shift in his life — and one he feels more than ready to make.
“I’m Selling Up — and Going North”
Despite divorcing in 2022, Alan has continued living in the former marital home, something he now says no longer fits who he is — or where he’s headed.
“I’m selling up and going up there,” he said, confirming plans to relocate to Scotland.

Fresh off his win on Celebrity Traitors, Alan has fallen hard for life north of the border — so much so that he’s now searching for a castle-style property, complete with turrets.
“For real. My money, my decision,” he said. “I’m still in the house where my ex was — we’re divorced now and it’s been four years. I’m single, ready to mingle… I just need to move.”
He revealed he’s already heading to Scotland to view potential homes, adding that the whole process feels “exciting,” even if it’s long overdue.
