Coronation Street viewers think they’ve solved the mystery behind the cruel messages tormenting Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) — and the truth may be closer to home than anyone expected.
Hope’s Torment Continues
The drama began when Hope started receiving a string of anonymous and hurtful texts, calling her names and mocking her appearance. In Monday’s episode, the teen was preparing for a Halloween makeover at the salon when another cruel message appeared on her phone.
When she spotted Jake Windass (Bobby Bradshaw) laughing at his mobile nearby, Hope immediately assumed he was behind the bullying. Despite Jake’s protests, she stormed off — and later took her anger even further.
Hope Loses Control
In upcoming scenes, Hope confronts Jake again at the café, convinced he’s the one sending the nasty messages. In a fit of frustration, she grabs his phone and smashes it, shocking everyone around her.
Jake’s parents, Gary Windass and Izzy Armstrong, soon pay a visit to Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) to discuss the situation. But Tyrone, unaware of what’s been happening, is blindsided — especially since Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) has been keeping the ordeal secret to spare him extra stress.
The Real Bully Revealed?
According to spoilers, the mystery troll’s identity could finally be exposed next week — and the culprit might not be Jake after all.
When Ruby Dobbs (Billie Naylor) complains that her classmates mocked her for having a “cringey and clapped” phone, Tyrone tries to reassure her, saying they can’t afford a new one. But the phrase catches his attention later when Hope receives yet another abusive message using the exact same words.
Realising the match, Tyrone begins to suspect something devastating — could Ruby, Hope’s own sister, be the one sending the messages?
Fans Think the Clues Add Up
Viewers are already convinced. Many have taken to social media to share their theories:
“I think it’s Ruby sending the messages to Hope #Corrie.”
“Except it’s not Jake — it’s her own sister! Ruby’s jealous because Jake likes Hope.”
“Ruby had a guilty and jealous look on her face. She’s the troll for sure.”
If the fan theories are right, Hope’s bullying storyline could take an emotional new turn, pitting sister against sister and testing the Stape-Dobbs family like never before.
