Carson Daly has expressed his heartache over seeing his close friend, Today co-host Savannah Guthrie, still in a “tortured limbo state” more than 50 days after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, went missing.

Appearing on Today on March 25, Daly shared the emotional toll of watching Savannah cope with the aftermath of the tragic disappearance. “It’s gut-wrenching to watch someone you love so much be, still post–50 days of this tragic event, in this tortured limbo state,” Daly, 52, said. “Yet to still show so much resilience among it all.”

Savannah’s mother, Nancy, 84, disappeared on January 31, with the FBI continuing to investigate her case. As the search for answers continues, Savannah’s strength and determination have been a source of admiration among her colleagues and viewers alike.

‘Unbearable’ Pain, But ‘No One Is Stealing Her Joy’
