Bridgerton Season 4 Arrives in 2026: Watch Benedict Fall for SophieUnmask a special clip from the newest installment, which just wrapped production.By Tara Bitran and Ariana RomeroSept. 29, 2025
We neednât turn to Lady Whistledownâs Society Papers for the lowdown on Bridgerton Season 4 â read everything you need to know about the new season, which just wrapped production.
Prepare to swoon before watching the video at the top of the page. The thrilling clip captures the moment Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) first spots a mysterious Lady in Silver â unbeknownst to him, her name is Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) â at Lady Bridgertonâs famed masquerade ball.
Benedict, the titular clanâs second eldest, leads the latest installment of the series. Thatâs right: The character who once mooned from the corner of the ballroom is now ready for his own Bridgerton love story. Benedict meets his love interest, the determined and captivating Sophie, in the first episode of the new season.
If the clip isnât enough to tide you over, check out new photos from Season 4 that feature reunited best friends Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Eloise (Claudia Jessie) promenading in London. âTheyâre more bonded than ever!â showrunner Jess Brownell says. âTheir trials and tribulations last season have added new depth to their friendship, and weâre excited for viewers to see how their relationship looks now that theyâve each grown up a little.â

The photos also feature sisters Rosamund Li (Michelle Mao) and Posy Li (Isabella Wei), newcomers to Mayfair society, as they call in on Eloise and her little sister Hyacinth (Florence Hunt) at Bridgerton House. The two are making their debut this season, and Brownell says their mother, Araminta Gun (Katie Leung), has raised them to be perfect debutantes.
âWhile Rosamund has become her motherâs mini-me â a marriage mart pro chess player â Posy is dreamy and often unserious, much to her motherâs disapproval,â says Brownell. âAraminta and Rosamund are so focused on their own goals that, frankly, the Bridgertons donât register much for them at first, beyond the fact that Benedict proves to be quite the catch this season.â

The 2025 Season of Love fan event, hosted by Queen Charlotte herself (Golda Rosheuvel) this past Valentineâs Day, brought even more eagerly awaited news and sneak peeks at some of the fabulous costumes we can expect to see worn at the iconic bash, a beloved moment for fans of the original books.
Thankfully, some familiar faces will be on hand as Benedict and Sophie navigate their intrigue-filled affair â Season 2âs leading lady Simone Ashley, who plays Anthony Bridgertonâs beloved wife Kate Bridgerton, will return for another season.
The event also introduced a few of the stony locations where the next chapter of the drama will unfold, including Benedictâs cozy countryside escape, My Cottage.

Who is Bridgerton Season 4 about?
Season 4 turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict. Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down. That is, until an enthralling woman captures Benedictâs attention at Violet Bridgertonâs (Ruth Gemmell) masquerade ball. While Benedict knows his love interest as only the Lady in Silver, sheâs actually Sophie, a resourceful maid with her own secrets and dreams.
Thompson canât wait to bring the star-crossed loversâ story to life. âThe scripts that Jess [Brownell] and her team have come up with are dynamite. Theyâre really, really, really exciting,â the actor says. âThe storyline is a bit of a twist on âCinderella.â You remember being told those stories as a child â the magic and the romance of them. Itâs really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgerton ⊠Itâs such a great story, but itâs also, I hope, really relatable.â
One person already feels a deep connection to Bridgerton Season 4: Ha. While auditioning, she immediately enjoyed the âfun, play-like qualityâ she saw in the scripts. âWhat drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles â something that she constantly has to overcome,â Ha says. âWhether itâs this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedict.â

How did Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha build the showâs central relationship?
âWhatâs striking about Season 4,â Thompson tells Tudum, âis that itâs the struggle between a proper old-school fairy tale â the romance of it â and the actual reality of the world.â Season 4 pulls back the curtain of the over-the-top households of the ton, and introduces some of the people who keep these aristocratic clans running. âBoth are true,â Thompson continues. âYou have to hold both of them â the romance and the reality â in your hand. In its best version, âtrue loveâ happens in the middle of that.â
Series newcomer Ha has enjoyed the âplayful, freeing, therapeuticâ feeling of preparing for filming alongside Thompson. The pair first met during a dinner at showrunner Brownellâs home. âI remember Luke stood there with arms wide open, just ready for an embrace,â Ha tells Tudum. âThat was the moment I was like, âAh, OK, I donât need to stress about these little things now. I can just genuinely focus on the on-screen connection with him.â â
Sometimes building Benedict and Sophieâs romance involves what Ha describes as âspecial and very vulnerableâ rehearsals. Other times, it extends to dance training that âfeels like a part of the charactersâ journey,â Thompson says. Especially because, as he explains, âI get really excited by how many unexpected twists youâll get in Season 4. A big one Iâm sure I can mention is this one masquerade ballâŠâ
Who are the new characters in Bridgerton Season 4?
As with previous seasons, we can expect to see some new characters spinning around the Bridgerton ballroom. They are:
- Lady Araminta Gun, played by Katie Leung. Twice-married and twice-widowed, Araminta has two daughters debuting on the marriage mart this season and sheâs feeling the pressure to get at least one of her girls married off. Fabulous, discerning, and blunt, Araminta does not respond well when anything â or anyone â threatens her standing in society.
- Rosamund Li, played by Michelle Mao. Beautiful, vain, and eager to please her mother, Rosamund is Aramintaâs eldest daughter and most prized possession. Rosamund sets her sights on Benedict this social season. And, just like her mother, Rosamund is determined to get what she wants.
- Posy Li, played by Isabella Wei. Rosamundâs younger, kinder sister is also debuting this year. But Araminta rarely puts the spotlight on her second child. Posyâs chatty, overly friendly demeanor often has her putting her foot in her mouth.
And, although they arenât new arrivals in Mayfair, you can expect to see more of two beloved Bridgerton characters. Emma Naomi (Alice Mondrich) and Hugh Sachs (Brimsley) will both be part of Season 4âs main cast.

Who is the creative team behind Bridgerton Season 4?
Brownell is the showrunner and executive producer of Bridgerton Season 4. While Thompson doesnât want to reveal his conversations with the writer, he will say this much: âSheâs told me a lot about whatâs to come, and Iâm really excited about it.â
Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Chris Van Dusen are all executive producers. Thompson feels âluckyâ to collaborate with this group for more than five years on Bridgerton. âI get to work with some of the nicest and best people around,â he says. âTo get to head a show that has been absolutely tried and tested? And to be surrounded by the cast, creative team, and production crews that I know? I think, âWell, why should I be nervous?â â
Where is Bridgerton Season 4 filmed?
Bridgerton has expanded its filming locations on one of the newly constructed back lots of Shepperton Studios outside of London; this is also where the charming new photos of Thompson and Ha were taken. The build spans about two acres and features replicas of Georgian and Regency architecture, including homes, buildings, Mayfair Street, and more in all their splendor. Bridgerton production designer Alison Gartshore, along with supervising art director Antony Cartlidge and art director Adam David Grant, designed the dazzling new back lot.
