Adam Peaty’s mum has shared a heartbreaking message about a “year of hurt” as she admits she is praying her heart never has to break like this again following the devastating family fall-out surrounding her son’s wedding.

The Olympic swimming champion stunned friends and relatives when he uninvited his parents and wider family from his nuptials to Holly Ramsay on Saturday, a move that has reportedly left deep emotional scars across the Peaty household.
Caroline Peaty, 60, took the blow particularly hard and has now reposted a message from another Instagram user that appears to capture exactly how she is feeling. Her emotional Instagram Story read: “I won’t end this year pretending everything was fine. I lost a piece of myself this year that I will never get back, and I’m not forcing a smile like it didn’t change me.
So no… I won’t be saying ‘2026 is going to be my year.’ I’ll be praying that I recover next year, that my heart never has to break like this again, that I never have to survive something like this again.”

The feud is said to have erupted after Adam’s stag do in Budapest in November, when his brother James was arrested over allegations he had sent threats to the Olympian. Although James was later bailed, a source claimed Adam felt his mum was “enabling his brother’s actions rather than pushing him to deal with his demons”.
Not long after, Holly is said to have failed to invite her future mother-in-law to her hen do at Soho Farmhouse — despite her own mum Tana and Victoria Beckham being in attendance.
Adam, 31, later withdrew invitations from his wider family too, including his great aunt and uncle, who reportedly received a blunt text just days before the December 27 wedding.
While Adam’s father Mark was offered the chance to attend, it came with the condition he would have to sit at the back of the church. He declined — leaving Adam’s sister Beth as the only family member present, where she served as one of Holly’s three maids of honour.
Beth has since shared snaps of the lavish gifts she received from the newlyweds after playing such a key role on the big day.
Meanwhile, Caroline is also said to be “outraged and hurt” over comments made by Gordon Ramsay during his fiery father-of-the-bride speech at the wedding reception.
The celebrity chef praised his daughter Holly and told Adam he was a “lucky man”, adding: “Look at Tana and that’s what you have to look forward to.” He then reportedly delivered a pointed line to Holly: “Shame you don’t have the same.”
It is claimed those words have caused further distress to Adam’s mum, with a source telling the Daily Mail:
“Caroline can’t believe Gordon brought their family troubles up in his speech. It is outrageous and very hurtful. By saying Tana will be a good mum to them both makes Caroline sound like a bad mum. It was a cruel dig at her. She has always done her best for all her children.”
With emotions still raw, Caroline’s sorrowful message now offers a heartbreaking glimpse into a mother left reeling as a year of family turmoil draws to a close.
