A decade after first settling onto their now-famous sofa, Gogglebox favourites Dave and Shirley Griffiths have confirmed they’re not going anywhere – much to the relief of fans still reeling from last month’s surprise cast shake-up.
The Caerphilly couple, who joined the hit Channel 4 show in its sixth series back in 2015, have become household names thanks to their razor-sharp banter and warm chemistry while reacting to the week’s television. The 25th series wrapped in May, leaving viewers desperate for Friday nights to feel “complete” again.

Currently enjoying a sunny holiday, Dave and Shirley shared a travel snap on Instagram. When a follower asked when they’d start filming again, Dave quickly reassured them: “End of August mate – won’t be long.”
The comment sent fans into a flurry of excitement. One wrote, “Love you both, can’t wait to see you back on TV,” while another said, “You two make me smile every week – my favourites!”

Their return comes just weeks after Scottish duo Roisin and Joe revealed they had been axed from the show after three and a half years. In an emotional TikTok statement, Roisin said Channel 4 had decided not to invite them back for series 26, adding, “It’s been an honour to represent Scotland… we will miss you immensely.”
With Gogglebox first airing in 2013, the show has delivered 25 main series and seven celebrity editions. While the exact return date hasn’t been confirmed, the new series is expected to land in September or October – and Dave and Shirley will be right there on the sofa, ready to share their trademark laughs.
