BITTERSWEET ANNIVERSARY: CORRIE STAR BREAKS SILENCE ON THE MOST DEVASTATING STORYLINE IN COBBLES HISTORY!

💔 Tear-Jerker Milestone: David Platt Star Jack P. Shepherd Marks 10 Years Since the ‘Most Challenging’ Corrie Death Ever!

Coronation Street fans, get your tissues ready because the nostalgia is hitting absolutely heavy. It has officially been a decade since one of the most devastating, heart-wrenching deaths in Weatherfield history, and star Jack P. Shepherd (David Platt) is taking a highly emotional trip down memory lane.

Having ruled the Cobbles since 2000, Shepherd has survived it all—from pushing his own mother Gail down the stairs to surviving endless street feuds. But nothing prepared him for the tragic, bloody exit of his on-screen soulmate, Kylie Platt (played by Paula Lane).

“Forever Missed” 🌹

Back in 2016, the nation wept when Kylie was brutally stabbed to death by Clayton Higgs, tragically dying right in David’s arms just as the couple planned to escape to Barbados.

To mark the 10-year anniversary of the cinematic episode, Jack took to Instagram to share a series of emotional behind-the-scenes pictures and videos of himself and Paula. He boldly crowned the tragic plotline as “the most challenging story I’ve ever played.”

His real-life and on-screen sister, Tina O’Brien (currently facing her own prison nightmare as Sarah Platt), immediately flooded the comments with emojis, but it was Paula Lane’s response that truly broke fans’ hearts.

“Our song was on the radio the other day and every time it reminds me… Lana Del Rey – Video Games! Yep we were great!” Paula wrote lovingly.

Where is Paula Lane Now?

Leaving the iconic role wasn’t easy for Paula, who originally chose to walk away in 2016 for maternity leave. Reflecting on her exit, she stated: “I have an amazing on-screen family who have become friends for life so this decision was not taken lightly.”

Since trading the Cobbles for new adventures, Paula has been absolutely killing it in the TV world. She has graced major hits like Call The Midwife and Father Brown, and even crossed enemy lines into the soap rival world, starring as Ella Forster in Emmerdale until 2025.

David and Kylie will forever remain soap royalty, and a decade later, the fans—and the stars—are clearly not over the heartbreak!
