HUMILIATED CHRISTINA TELLS BRUTAL LIE TO GEORGE AND RISKS LOSING EVERYTHING

Coronation Street Bombshell: Beloved Couple Christina And George Face Total Collapse

Once upon a time Christina Boyd played by Amy Robbins and George Shuttleworth played by Tony Maudsley were the most adored pairing on Coronation Street. That fairytale is crumbling fast.

It began beautifully. The yummy mummy of the much missed Daisy Midgeley played by Charlotte Jordan moved in with the kind hearted local undertaker George who was nursing a bruised heart after his former flame Eileen Grimshaw played by Sue Cleaver jetted off to Thailand.

Stepping into Eileen shoes was always going to be a huge task but Christina proved to be a warm and devoted partner at first. Manchester happiest undertaker fell head over heels, even creating a role for her as cleaner at Shuttleworth Independent Funeral Services.

From that moment Christina stood by George through every high and low and there have been plenty of lows.

The Lawsuit That Nearly Sank Shuttleworth Funerals

Earlier this year George business was dragged to court by Annie King the disgruntled daughter of former client Doris. Doris had left George £10,000 in her will and Annie accused him of taking advantage of a vulnerable woman. She tried to destroy his reputation by flooding the internet with vicious reviews. It was Christina who convinced him to keep the money and fight Annie all the way.

That battle tested them but the real crack appeared during the Theo Silverton murder investigation.

The Theo Murder Lie That Put Summer In The Firing Line

Both George and Christina were desperate to free their friend Todd Grimshaw played by Gareth Pierce from the grip of his abusive partner Theo Silverton played by James Cartwright. As Todd close friend employer and father figure George had an obvious motive. That gave Christina a motive to protect him.

After the incident the pair became tangled in a police probe when Christina told a massive lie to officers to cover their tracks. The lie made their friend and fellow suspect Summer Spellman played by Harriet Bibby look guilty as sin.

Quizzed at the station Christina later backtracked and claimed she had simply muddled her timings because she stopped for petrol. George chose to believe her at the time.

Christina may bend the truth occasionally but that little fib will look like choir girl behaviour next to what she does next.

Glenda Catches Her Out And The Secret Credit Card Scandal Explodes

Earlier this week Glenda Shuttleworth played by Jodie Prenger spotted Christina sneaking off to her car and tipped off her brother. George did not want to suspect his partner but Glenda suspicions deepened. While Christina slipped to the loo Glenda discovered a credit card statement belonging to Mary Taylor played by Patti Clare hidden in her handbag.

George worst fears came true when he found Christina down the precinct in an intimate embrace with a man named Lenny played by Joe Osbourne. Cornered like a deer in headlights Christina confessed. She claimed she has a spending addiction. She had opened a credit card in the name of her ex husband Lenny. Worse still she had used fraudulent cards to scam both Mary and Glenda.

Disgusted but still in love George agreed to go with her to an addicts support group at the community centre to make amends.

Glenda and Mary were far less forgiving. Mary especially has dealt with liars before and made it clear forgiveness must be earned.

Mary Revenge Flash Sale And The Parcel That Could Ruin Everything

This week Mary makes life deliberately difficult. Christina is furious to learn Mary is staging a flash sale and selling off all the household items Christina bought during her spree. Mary coldly points out the items were purchased on her card so they are hers to sell. Christina is forced to grit her teeth and watch.

The next day Mary keeps needling Christina about her fraud. Christina glances at her phone and sees a package out for delivery notification. Her heart drops. She has spent another fortune and it is too late to cancel.

Things spiral further. In this week trips to the Cobbles Christina compulsive behaviour hits a dangerous new peak with dire fallout for poor George.

A courier arrives at Number 11 with a parcel addressed to Christina. Mortified Christina admits to Todd she still has not got her spending under control.

When George spots the parcel Todd quickly covers and pretends it is his. Once alone Todd warns Christina he will not lie for her again and she must stop keeping secrets from George.

Christina promises she will change her ways.

But is her mouth writing cheques her wallet simply cannot cash?
