On Tuesday, July 1, the Television Academy announced the first round of programming for its inaugural Televerse Festival, which is taking place in mid-August at the JW Marriott at L.A. Live.

Headlining the announcement is a 20th anniversary reunion of the cast and creator of the long-running FOX crime procedural Bones, which ran for 12 seasons and nearly 250 episodes on FOX, from 2005 to 2017.

“Bones creator/showrunner Hart Hanson and stars Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, T.J. Thyne and Tamara Taylor will reunite for the series’ 20th anniversary to revisit the hit procedural’s 12-season run, which followed renowned forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan (Deschanel), FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (Boreanaz) and their teams as they investigated and solved crimes,” teases the press release.

It continues, “The panel will discuss the show’s exploration of science vs. faith, the real-life forensics and anthropologist who inspired the series, the process of crafting the chemistry between the group’s ensemble cast, and the show’s resonance with fans 20 years later.”

In addition to the Bones reunion, the Televerse Festival will also feature Acting Class with Henry Winkler, Breaking Story with Beau Willimon (Andor, House of Cards), a panel with the broadcasting team behind Los Angeles Dodgers games, and a sneak peek screening at the upcoming limited series Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy.

There will also be some For Your Consideration panels. The press release reads, “For the first time, Emmy voters will have access to Television Academy-sanctioned For Your Consideration panels featuring Emmy-nominated shows and performers from key program categories prior to the final round of Emmy voting.”

Finally, there will be a Television Academy Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which will see Viola Davis, Don Mischer, Ryan Murphy, Conan O’Brien, Mike Post and Henry Winkler “honored for their exceptional contributions to the evolution of television.”
