Jesy Nelson recently shared a heartwarming photo of her twin daughters, Ocean and Story, after revealing they are set to undergo more tests during their ongoing fight against Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). The singer, 34, previously announced that her now nine-month-old twins were diagnosed with SMA Type 1, a devastating condition that causes muscle-wasting.
In a sweet Instagram post, Jesy shared a picture of one of her twins, joking about her daughter’s growing curls, comparing them to a “cabbage patch doll.” The tender moment was a bright spot for Jesy as she continues to care for her daughters with unwavering devotion. Jesy’s twins both have feeding tubes in their noses, a stark reminder of the daily struggles they face.

In addition to caring for her daughters, Jesy has been an outspoken advocate for SMA screening for newborns. She has tirelessly campaigned for the NHS to introduce testing for SMA1, a cause that has gained momentum with the announcement that, starting in October 2026, more than 400,000 babies in England will be screened for the condition.
Despite the tragic prognosis that her daughters may not live beyond the age of two, Jesy remains hopeful, determined to make the most out of their time and continue her advocacy efforts. Her campaign has already garnered over 100,000 signatures, which will be debated in Parliament.
Jesy, who continues to film her Prime Video series, described the emotional rollercoaster of caring for her twins, acknowledging the intense challenges they face but reaffirming her belief that her daughters will defy the odds.
Let’s all send Jesy and her family our heartfelt wishes as they continue their brave journey together.
