Strictly Come Dancing star La Voix left This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard momentarily speechless after unleashing a razor-sharp jibe about the ITV show’s ever-changing presenter line-up.

The drag star — real name Christopher Dennis and runner-up on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2024 — appeared on the daytime programme alongside Vicky Pattison and George Clarke to discuss preparations for the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing UK-wide live tour.

While discussing the intense training schedule, the conversation soon shifted to La Voix’s long-held ambition of one day stepping into the Strictly presenting spotlight — potentially following in the footsteps of former hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly.
Turning to Cat, 49, La Voix cheekily asked whether she would be keen to team up — before firing a surprise swipe at This Morning itself.
Cat and Ben, 51, took over h

osting duties following the departure of Holly Willoughby in 2023, months after Phillip Schofield exited the show. They currently front the programme Monday to Thursday, while Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond take the reins on Fridays.

During school holidays and festive periods, a rotating roster of presenters — including Josie Gibson, Rylan Clark, Craig Doyle, Emma Willis, Christine Lampard and Rochelle Humes — often step in.
La Voix joked:
“There’s two openings — don’t forget, there’s two jobs going. I’d take either of them. That’s why I’m keeping in with Shirley Ballas.”

She then presented Cat with a copy of Shirley’s autobiography, adding mischievously:
“I’ve even signed it for you — so it’s worth more money now.”
However, when Cat opened the book, she noticed the dedication hadn’t actually been addressed to her.
“I love that you haven’t even made it out to me,” Cat laughed.
La Voix didn’t miss a beat, firing back:
“Well, let’s face it — on this show it’s a different presenter every week. You never know who it’s going to be!”
She added:
“It’s like pot luck. It’s like work experience on this show.”
The remark left Cat and Ben stunned — and laughing — while Vicky and George visibly cringed.
Tour, Injury and a Bittersweet Exit
Last November, La Voix was confirmed as the first celebrity announced for the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour 2026, alongside Harry Aikines-Aryeetey. Professional dancers Karen Hauer and Aljaž Škorjanec will also join the tour.
The live shows will travel across the UK, with stops including Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Glasgow, Nottingham and London’s O2, alongside judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood, plus It Takes Two host Janette Manrara.
However, La Voix’s Strictly journey was cut short after she suffered a shock foot injury during rehearsals, forcing her to withdraw before the Blackpool episode.
Fighting back tears, she told viewers:
“This isn’t how I wanted my journey to end — but at least it gives someone else a chance to win.”
Her partner Aljaž later praised her impact, saying:
“The world needs more of you. Strictly needed you.”
Moments after her exit was announced, La Voix shared an emotional statement on Instagram, thanking fans for their support and insisting she would “cherish the experience forever”.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
