Carla Connor (Alison King) is one of the most formidable women Coronation Street has ever seen. Bold, feisty, and never one to suffer fools, few would want to take her on. It seems, however, that Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) is more than up for the challenge.
A wedding proposal seemed to seal the future of Carla and her bride-to-be Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), though the pre-honeymoon honeymoon period was brought to a brutal end when Lisa’s dead wife, Becky, revealed herself to be absolutely not dead, turning up in Weatherfield with the single-minded mission of reclaiming her family.

On Becky, Corrie producer Kate Brooks told us: ‘She’s got her sights set on getting that family back. She’s clever and she’s wily. She stayed dead for, like, four years! She knows what she’s doing. She knows how to lie her way out of situations.
‘She also capitalises on the fact that Lisa’s still struggling to process this, and what she’s offering is a glimpse of the past and the life they had together.’
Not unexpectedly, given their shared desire to be the only woman in Lisa’s life, Becky and Carla have found themselves squarely at odds and with Carla away in Ireland, Becky has used her time alone with her ex to try and win her back.
Time was up, however, when Carla come home, though Becky had another trick up her sleeve, revealing to her love rival that she’d been staying at No.6, under the same roof as Lisa.
Later discovering the cosy footage of Becky and Lisa modelling Betsy Swain’s (Sydney Martin) designs while at the Rover’s Halloween party, Carla is wounded and takes herself home. Like a shark smelling blood, Becky played their first dance song and made a move on Lisa.

Lisa immediately told Carla, who wastes no time in confronting Becky, informing her that if she ever tries to throw the lips on Lisa again, she’s a dead woman. The kind that actually stays dead.
Next week sees Carla still rattled by the turn of events and asserts her fears to Lisa: it’s only a matter of time before Becky manages to worm her way back in. Although Lisa tries her best to alleviate Carla’s fears, she’s unsuccessful, and Carla summons Becky for a conversation.
As the two fiery females go head to head, Carla tells Becky that she has no part in Lisa’s future, point blank period. Becky, meanwhile, scoffs at that notion. Lisa still loves her, and she can see it in her eyes.
