Liz McClarnon has welcomed her first child with her husband Peter Cho after years of ‘painful IVF’.
The Atomic Kitten legend, 44, announced the news that she had welcomed her baby boy on Instagram on Sunday, sharing a selfie of herself giving a thumbs up from her hospital bed.
She captioned the photo: ‘Little man arrived early. It started out a bit scary but all went well in the end.’
Liz dropped the news she was pregnant in May after struggling to conceive for two decades and turning to IVF.
Liz and Peter met four years ago and soon after meeting started their IVF journey – and unfortunately had three failed embryo cycles in 2023, and then suffered two miscarriages the following year, but finally got the happy news that they wanted.
The girlband star emotionally revealed the gender of their child during a recent appearance on Loose Women.

After her VT was played out to viewers, Liz walked out on stage to sit down with the panel and confessed: ‘That piece then, it made me get a bit teary back there.’
Jane Moore was keen to know how far gone she is in her pregnancy and asked: ‘Where are you now, what stage?’
Liz said: ‘I am just around five months. We know what we’re having.. if you’d like to know? We’re having a boy!
‘We thought it might be a girl, we thought it might be a girl.’ She added: ‘Lots of names going around in my head and getting really excited by.’
Earlier on in the segment, Liz got emotional as she explained why she got upset after seeing her VT play out. She said: ‘It’s been really tough actually.
‘It’s strange because I speak about it, but hearing you talk about it then, in third person, it’s completely separate to me, it made me upset, it was almost like someone else.
‘Whereas when you deal with it yourself, you’re like “oh, carry on. Let’s do this”.’
Jane Moore was interested to know if they had realised before trying for a baby that they would have fertility issues.

Liz explained: ‘The reason we went to a doctor to find out, when we met, I was over 40, it’s a reality. We thought let’s see where we are, let’s see where we stand.’
She continued that they told her: ‘Everything seems ok, you have fluid around your ovaries, but let’s start some treatments.’
Liz and Peter – who tied the knot in 2023 – announced their happy news in May through an emotional Instagram clip.
In the sweet clip, Liz could be seen sitting on a park bench before turning around to reveal her bump.
During the video, she said: ‘I’ve been keeping a secret from you, and I’ve mostly kept myself off social media because sometimes it was hard to smile.

‘But after years of sometimes quite painful IVF and dark times, I’m pregnant! We feel like we’ve been given the world.’
Liz captioned the post: ‘I started to record a video of me just telling you but I got too emotional so I thought I’d just hide behind this little announcement instead.
‘I just can’t believe we’re here. So many have been through exactly what I went through and worse. ❤️
‘I want to share what I can and add my voice and ears to those who already help others understand or deal with all that comes with IVF and loss after so much hope.
‘I’ve been a part of some beautifully supportive communities. I’m so grateful.’
Her post was soon flooded with congratulations from her celebrity pals, including her former Atomic Kitten bandmate Natasha Hamilton.
She wrote: ‘Literally couldn’t be any happier for you both! After all you’ve been through, this little miracle is everything.’
Michelle Heaton said: ‘So unbelievably happy for you both. I know how the road has been unkind to get here… but look at u now… so so happy xx love to all three of u xx.’
