On July 28, Conner Floyd‘s nearly four-year run as Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV on Young and Restless came to an end when his character died a hero in the arms of Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). As soap fans know, there was a bit of irony in how his exit was scripted, as Floyd left Y&R to assume the role that Flynn vacated on Days of Our Lives, Chad DiMera. Flynn was among the Y&R cast members who took to social media to say good-bye to Floyd as he put a pin in his Genoa City experience.
Bye For Now
On July 29, the actor posted a farewell message to the character and Y&R fans on Instagram. “It’s been real GC. What a ride. I have truly been blessed to call myself a citizen of Genoa City. To share the stage with so many talented and hard working actors, creatives and crew members. This is without a doubt a special place. I’m grateful to have been a part of such an iconic piece of art that has lasted through the decades and that has such a stellar, die hard fan base. Thank you for accepting me. Chance will always have a close place in my heart. He’s taught me a lot and I’ll miss him dearly. It’s been an absolute honor to represent the Chancellor legacy.” He signed off by writing, “Detective Chancellor, over and out.”
Floyd’s Y&R castmates filled the comment section with their own sentimental messages. Flynn wrote, “It was an honor to tenderly hold you while you passed on. You’re the man!”
Chimed in Melissa Ordway, whose Abby was once married to Floyd’s Chance, “You’re a rockstar… so excited for your next chapter! ❤️”
“We love you SOOOO much!!” posted Michelle Stafford (Phyllis). “You are a JOY!!! So sad to not see you on set… but…. You are gonna kill on days!!”
Lauralee Bell (Christine) enthused, “Loved every cop/lawyer scene we hung on to eachother for rooting for you to get your line then I’ll get mine 🤞Thank goodness we’ll see each other around the soap hood and excited for what you’re doing next! ❤️”
Michael Graziadei (Daniel) wrote, “😢 you will be greatly missed. Glad I was afforded the opportunity to not only work with you, but to also get to know you and to be able to call you a friend. 💪🎸🔥”
Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) also weighed in, writing simply, “Conner!!❤️❤️❤️,” while Courtney Hope (Sally) summed up, “You will be missed 🤘🏽🫶🏼!!”
