Netflix Just Cast Lucy Hale in a Dark New Thriller — And Fans Are Losing It Forget everything you thought you knew about Lucy Hale. Her upcoming Netflix series Dead Letters promises secrets, twists, and a side of her we’ve never seen before.

Netflix is once again going to deliver another gem to mystery lovers out there. Dead Letters is a mystery-drama series based on the 2017 novel of the same name by author Caite Dolan-Leach. If you’re up for another thrilling adventure that’ll make your head think and your mind be blown, then write this series down on your watch list.

Dead Letters tells the story of twin sisters, Ava and Zelda, but things changed for Ava after her sister died, and she decides to return to the family vineyard, where she discovers secrets and hidden letters left behind by her twin sister, leading to a dangerous scavenger hunt to find out the truth behind her sister’s death and more.

The Production, Cast, and Release Date

The series is being produced by Unwell Productions and Kapital Entertainment, and it is being written and produced by Rachel Caris Love and directed by Liz Friedlander alongside Aaron Kaplan and Alex Cooper. But for the cast of the show, there’s only been Lucy Hale, who is confirmed to portray the role of both twins, Ava and Zelda.

Other cast members might be announced, because Dead Letters is still under early development, and the proper production of the series will begin sometime in early to mid-2026. That also means that any news about the show’s release date will come much later, at least until the filming for it is wrapped up.

Netflix is setting us up once again for more mystery, drama, and heart-raising thriller with Dead Letters. So stay tuned for any new updates for the show, because unlike Zelda’s letters, the words and promises of Netflix won’t die that easily.
